Job description

The Seminar Network is seeking a Senior Director of Member Relations to join their growing development team. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Development and work within a fast-moving team to establish, cultivate, and steward relationships with major philanthropic partners at the “principal gift” level – the highest level within the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a strategy to identify and engage major philanthropic partners across the country with the capacity and propensity to make multi-million dollar commitments
  • Build, cultivate, and grow a portfolio of long-term relationships utilizing “Moves Management” techniques
  • Collaborate with the organization’s leadership and Communications and Marketing Department to create personalized engagement strategies with current and prospective partners around areas of mutual interest
  • Initiate and participate in a wide-variety of meetings with partners across the country

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant years of work experience required
  • 10+ years’ experience in a professional environment required
  • Demonstrated experience closing major gifts at the seven-figure level required
  • Familiarity with concepts of Moves Management is preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.com, preferred
  • A passion and commitment to the principles of a free and open society
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong appreciation for the importance of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize and advanced skills in strategic planning and coordination
  • Ability to travel 2-3 days per week required
  • Demonstrated evidence of leadership and entrepreneurial behavior
