Cytokinetics is seeking a Senior Director, Legal Counsel to serve as a senior legal advisor, providing strategic and practical counsel across corporate and commercial matters. The role partners with business leaders on complex transactions, while identifying legal risks and balancing legal and business objectives.

Reporting to the SVP, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, this hybrid-based position expects on-site presence in South San Francisco, CA.

Qualifications

• JD degree and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state; California bar or Registered In-House Counsel in California preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years in-house counsel experience in biotechnology, pharma or healthcare, or a mix with top law firm.
• Excellent written and oral communication with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate independently and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Negotiate complex corporate arrangements, licensing matters, and technology acquisitions.
• Draft and negotiate contracts for public biotech companies, IP and regulatory concerns.
• Identify and implement legal technology systems and workflows.
• Provide leadership on cross-functional teams and advise on legal options.
• Manage outside counsel within established budgets.
