Job summary

The White House Historical Association seeks a Senior Director of Planned Giving to lead the strategic expansion of legacy gifts, manage a portfolio of prospects, and collaborate with the development team to grow the endowment and advance the mission in Washington, DC.

You will steward the Legacy Society and National Council, cultivate major gifts, and oversee the administration of bequests, trusts, and gift annuities while using Salesforce to track progress and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7–10 years of experience in planned giving, major gifts, or related fundraising roles with a proven success in closing traditional and complex planned gifts, including bequests, gift annuities, remainder trusts, and gifts of real estate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive planned giving strategy to significantly increase the number and size of planned gifts.
• Identify, market, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects with the capacity to make planned gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects, maintain records and oversee bequests, trusts, and other vehicles.
