Saab, Inc. in Syracuse, New York seeks a Senior Director/Deputy General Manager for the Land Systems division. This role partners with the VP/GM to drive execution, financial performance, and customer engagement across a geographically dispersed organization.

The DGM will lead program management, risk management, and strategic deployments while representing senior leadership in key engagements with a focus on growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in defense industry with program management/operations/engineering/business leadership.
• Experience leading complex programs and cross-functional teams.
• Strong financial/business acumen with program or business financial oversight.
• Understanding of defense contracting, program execution, risk/opportunity management, and customer engagement.
• Executive presence for senior leadership representation.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills.
• Experience in complex, matrixed/international organizations.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with VP/GM to run the Land Systems business and share accountability for execution, financial performance, and metrics.
• Drive program execution across cost, schedule, quality, safety, and customer commitments.
• Collaborate with program and functional leaders to resolve challenges and optimize performance.
• Provide financial oversight of programs, budgets, forecasts, profitability, and resource allocation.
• Lead division-level reviews on business, programs, growth, resources, and execution.
• Represent VP/GM in senior leadership and customer engagements as needed.
• Build cross-functional relationships to improve alignment and decision-making.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to remove bottlenecks and improve processes.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams with accountability and collaboration.
