Saab, Inc. seeks a results-driven Senior Director/Deputy General Manager for the Land Systems division, based at Syracuse, NY.

This leader will partner with the VP/GM to drive execution, financial performance, and customer engagement across a geographically dispersed organization. The role requires strong program management, executive presence, and the ability to build trusted relationships with cross-functional leaders, while shaping strategy and sustaining growth in a defense-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of defense industry experience with program management, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or business leadership.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex programs and cross-functional teams.
• Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing program or business financial performance.
• Strong understanding of defense contracting, program execution, risk and opportunity management, and customer engagement.
• Executive presence with the ability to represent senior leadership internally and externally.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills with emotional intelligence and sound judgment.
• Experience in complex, matrixed and/or international organizations.
• U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP/GM in running the Land Systems business, sharing accountability for execution, financial performance, operational effectiveness, and business results.
• Drive effective program execution across cost, schedule, quality, safety, technical performance, and customer commitments.
• Partner with Program leadership and functional leaders to identify and resolve program and business challenges.
• Provide financial oversight of programs and broader business, including budgets, forecasts, profitability, resource allocation, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead division-level business, program, growth, resource, and execution reviews.
• Represent the VP/GM in senior leadership, customer, and other key engagements as appropriate.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to improve alignment, decision making, and execution.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and business metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, remove bottlenecks, increase efficiency, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
• Lead and develop high-performing teams while reinforcing accountability, collaboration, and effective decision making.
