Job summary

SF Fire Credit Union seeks a Director of Internal Audit to lead our internal audit program, oversee outsourced auditors, and coordinate with regulators. You will develop risk-based audit plans, assess governance and controls, and report to the Audit Committee and senior management.

The role requires extensive experience in financial institutions, strong leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across governance, risk management, and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related fields.
• 8-10 years of progressive experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Public Accounting, or related fields.
• 5+ years leading audit programs within a financial institution; outsourced audit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute a risk-based Internal Audit Plan.
• Perform enterprise-wide audit risk assessments and present plans to management.
• Coordinate outsourced audit activities and manage relationships with providers.
• Review audit reports for quality and consistency; monitor vendor performance.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory examinations and management reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual audit reports for Audit Committee and Board.
