Job summary

Banner Health's Internal Audit team seeks a senior leader to direct governance, risk management, and control processes across the organization. You will oversee audit planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up while coordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure robust controls and compliance.

You will also support the Audit Committee and guide staff development, fostering ethical standards and continuous quality improvement across Banner Health’s healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, healthcare administration, or related field or equivalent level of education and experience.
• Minimum of 15 years progressive internal audit experience with 10 years in a healthcare system or large multi-operational environment.
• Required certifications: CIA, CHIAP, CFE, CISA or CPA.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and drive continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement audit strategy aligned with internal audit charter and Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Lead planning, execution and reporting of risk-based assurance engagements.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders and advise senior management on controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulators to ensure compliance.
• Support Audit Committee meetings with agendas, findings, and plans.
