Job summary

Vivmark Residential, formed by the AvalonBay and Equity Residential merger, seeks a Director Interior Design to lead vision for all interior projects, from new developments to renovations, from concept through construction and FF&E procurement. The role requires 15+ years of leadership in multifamily or hospitality design, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong management skills.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, and MS Office is essential; NCIDQ or LEED AP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• 15+ years in Interior Design/Architecture with leadership of large projects.
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent, manage multiple projects.
• Experience across programming through FF&E procurement and construction admin.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and consultant management.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder skills.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, MS Office.
• Ability to travel within the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead design vision and execution for all interior projects, including new developments, capital improvements, and renovations.
• Oversee a portfolio from concept through construction completion, ensuring quality.
• Direct all phases of interior design: programming, schematic design, design development, CD, FF&E procurement.
• Manage pipelines, forecasting, staffing, and department priorities to meet objectives.
• Establish and grow a Dallas-based interior design studio and recruit/mentor designers.
• Build a scalable team structure supporting current and future volume; foster high performance.
• Collaborate with Arlington, VA studio for quality and efficiency; allocate resources effectively.
