Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a senior leader to drive AI-powered analytics for US Medical Affairs. You will own the data portfolio, lead patient journey analytics, and build proprietary AI/ML solutions while establishing scalable data governance and ethics frameworks.

You will engage executives, manage a diverse analytics team, and partner with external researchers to stay at the forefront of pharmaceutical data science. Strong leadership and cross-cultural collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus 12+ years’ experience in data & analytics, with recent medical affairs experience.
10+ years of experience in data & analytics, including medical affairs context.
Leadership experience managing people and projects directly and through matrixed leadership.
Strong English communication and cross-cultural partnership capabilities.

Responsibilities

Lead the vision and execution of AI-powered analytics and data science capabilities for US Medical Affairs.
Own the entire data portfolio and pioneer analytics in patient journey mapping, advanced segmentation, and stakeholder evaluation.
Scout and integrate external innovations and build proprietary AI/ML solutions in-house.
Establish scalable data architecture, governance, security, ethics, and AI/automation frameworks.
Engage senior and executive leadership on data strategy, investments, capability roadmaps, and resource allocation.
Partner with external innovation leaders, AI/ML research institutions, technology vendors, and thought leaders.
Evaluate emerging capabilities and determine which innovations to adopt, adapt, or build internally.
Architect and lead patient journey analytics, advanced segmentation models, and stakeholder evaluation systems.
Lead the development team and manage analytics delivery.
Translate Medical Affairs needs into a data science and AI/ML roadmap.
Present analytics capabilities, innovation progress, and strategic recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
Ensure rapid innovation deployment while maintaining compliance and data quality.
Develop and coach colleagues and build leadership capability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus 12+ years’ experience, or MBA plus 10+ years, or PharmD/PhD plus 7+ years
10+ years of experience in data & analytics, including recent medical affairs experience
Demonstrated effectiveness working in a cross-functional business environment
Leadership experience managing people and projects directly and through matrixed or indirect leadership
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and external stakeholders
Ability to partner cross-culturally and regionally
Effective talent management
Effective English verbal and written communication
In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical medicine, including clinical trial design, GCP, data interpretation, drug development, regulatory and promotional rules/guidance, legal and compliance, issue management, and business development opportunity evaluations
Knowledge of emerging trends in AI/ML, patient analytics, segmentation science, and data platforms
Understanding of technology applications in the life sciences sector
Ability to drive transformational change, lead teams, and engage diverse stakeholders
Advanced degree in data sciences or similar preferred
MBA or other related degree preferred
Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer
Permanent work authorization in the United States required
