Qualifications

• Strong technical background in network or systems engineering or infrastructure architecture.
• Proven progression into IT infrastructure leadership (Director/Head) or equivalent.
• Recent hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting enterprise networks and cloud infrastructure.
• Expertise with AWS and/or Azure, including hybrid networking and cloud connectivity.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs and network security.
• Experience leading technical teams, projects and budgets.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders.

Stelvio Group is partnering with an established, publicly traded technology organisation seeking a highly technical, hands-on Senior Director of IT.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who has progressed from infrastructure engineering into IT leadership but remains actively involved in designing, configuring and troubleshooting complex enterprise networks and cloud environments.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, overseeing IT infrastructure, operations, teams and technology integration across a growing, multi-site organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead corporate IT strategy, infrastructure operations and technology roadmaps.
• Remain hands-on with enterprise networking, cloud infrastructure and complex technical troubleshooting.
• Design and optimise hybrid infrastructure across AWS/Azure and on-premises environments.
• Oversee networking technologies including Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and SD-WAN.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, Windows Server and virtualisation environments.
• Lead infrastructure teams, budgets, vendors and IT service delivery.
• Drive technical due diligence and infrastructure integration following acquisitions.
• Improve infrastructure reliability, security, scalability and operational performance.

Required Experience

• Strong technical background in network engineering, systems engineering or infrastructure architecture.
• Proven progression into IT infrastructure leadership, ideally Director, Head of Infrastructure or equivalent.
• Recent hands-on experience designing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise networks and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong AWS and/or Azure expertise, including hybrid networking and cloud connectivity.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs and network security.
• Experience managing technical teams, infrastructure projects and budgets.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
• Relevant technical master's degree preferred.
• Cloud, networking or security certifications advantageous.
• M&A technical due diligence and post-acquisition IT integration.
• Multi-site or global infrastructure experience.
• Experience within acquisition-driven or publicly traded organisations.
