Job summary

twentyAI is seeking a Director of IT Infrastructure to lead its North American infrastructure strategy, with global influence. You will own strategic direction and oversee hands‑on operations, modernization, and team leadership across cloud, on‑prem, networks and security.

Reporting to the CIO, you will drive resilience, strengthen security, optimize technology spend and enable business growth while managing a 10–15 person team and external consultants.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, OCI).
• Experience with virtualized/on‑prem environments (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper‑V).
• Solid networking and security expertise (SD‑WAN, firewalls, modern security).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture and ongoing development of infrastructure across cloud, on‑prem, networking and Microsoft environments.
• Oversee infrastructure teams spanning networks, servers, Microsoft tech and end‑user support.
• Drive infrastructure transformation incl. data center consolidation, cloud expansion and network redesign.
• Lead improvements to security architecture, incl. Zero Trust evolution.
• Develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business goals.
• Partner with CIO and executives on technology investment and cost‑benefit analyses.
• Manage budgets, supplier relationships and procurement to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain disaster recovery, business continuity and resilience.

We’re partnering with a well-established, multi-site organization to appoint a Director of IT Infrastructure to lead and evolve its infrastructure strategy across North America, with influence across international operations.

Reporting directly to the CIO, this is a senior leadership opportunity combining strategic ownership with hands‑on oversight of infrastructure operations, technology modernization and team leadership.

You’ll play a key role in strengthening infrastructure resilience, improving security, optimizing technology spend and ensuring the IT environment continues to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture and ongoing development of infrastructure across cloud, on‑premise servers, networking and Microsoft environments.
• Oversee infrastructure teams spanning networks, servers, Microsoft technologies and end‑user support.
• Drive infrastructure transformation initiatives, including data center consolidation, cloud expansion and network redesign.
• Lead improvements to security architecture, including the evolution towards Zero Trust principles.
• Develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps aligned with wider business objectives.
• Partner closely with the CIO and senior stakeholders on technology investment, capital projects and cost‑benefit analysis.
• Manage infrastructure budgets, supplier relationships and technology procurement, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain and enhance disaster recovery capabilities, business continuity and infrastructure resilience.
• Lead, develop and motivate a team of approximately 10–15 employees, alongside external consultants.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, to identify opportunities for business improvement and cost optimization.

Experience & Skills

• Proven leadership experience across IT infrastructure, particularly networks and servers.
• Strong knowledge of cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience with virtualized and on‑premise environments, including VMware, Nutanix or Hyper‑V.
• Solid networking and security expertise, including SD-WAN, firewalls and modern security architecture.
• Experience leading infrastructure transformation, consolidation or modernization programmes.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, suppliers and technology expenditure.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective vendor relationships and negotiate technology services.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams and managing external consultants.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex technical decisions in business terms.
• A service-oriented mindset, focused on delivering reliable, secure and cost-effective IT services.
• Experience within wholesale, distribution or a multi-site commercial organization.
