Job summary

Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, seeks a dynamic 10-month, full-time Director of Guidance & College Advising for the 2026-27 year to lead the school counseling program in alignment with Archdiocese of Miami policies.

The role oversees college and career planning, testing, staff supervision, and collaboration with families to support students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth, while using data to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or related field; Master’s in School Counseling preferred.
• Florida certification/licensure in School Counseling preferred; eligibility considered.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Ability to collaborate with administrators, counselors, faculty, students and families.
• Experience with oversight of testing (HSPT, PSAT, Pre-ACT, ACT) and data-informed programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive high school counseling program for grades 9–12.
• Oversee college and career planning initiatives and standardized testing implementation.
• Supervise counseling staff and collaborate with administration and families.
• Use data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform improvements.
• Ensure compliance with state and Archdiocesan reporting related to student safety and wellness.
