Job summary

Stanford University’s Biomedical Data Science (BMDS) graduate program seeks an Associate Director to provide operational leadership and propel strategic growth of its graduate and fellowship programs. The program serves about 50 PhD and 100 MS students across local and remote formats, supported by 50+ affiliated faculty.

Working with the Associate Chair, program directors, faculty, and university partners, the Associate Director will advance the program’s interdisciplinary training mission,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership across organizational boundaries.
• Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to make sound business decisions with good judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and partnership-building.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex programs.
• Manage administration and evaluation of programs and functions with policy compliance.
• Identify and resolve cross-unit operational issues.
• Represent the BMDS program to university leadership and external stakeholders.
• Develop outreach strategies and engagement initiatives, including recruitment and compliance.
• Oversee staff delivering program activities and services.
