The Senior Director, Global Tax Reporting and Operations will lead global tax operations and reporting processes while driving strategic tax initiatives to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a seasoned tax professional with deep expertise in U.S. and international tax laws, reporting obligations, and financial planning. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who can build strong relationships across finance, business functions, and external advisors to align tax strategy with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance the global tax operating model.
- Manage U.S. and foreign finance shared services teams for tax compliance, audits, global tax provisions, and reporting.
- Improve tax controls through redesign and enhancement.
Tax Strategy & Financial Planning
- Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A teams to improve tax-related operations.
- Redesign and implement tax forecasting and scenario planning processes.
- Coordinate with finance teams to improve tax quality in financial reporting and forecasts.
- Assess tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, and transactions, providing strategic recommendations.
Tax Reporting & Audit Leadership
- Lead processes for evolving tax reporting obligations.
- Review and approve global tax accounting, income tax returns, and audits.
- Support tax planning and audit resolution activities.
Process Optimization & Technology
- Enhance efficiency and quality in tax reporting through technology and data access.
- Support tax technology strategy and execution aligned with digital transformation.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build relationships with executives and business partners, providing guidance.
- Lead talent development and succession planning.
- Attract and mentor high-performing tax personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 12-15+ years in global tax management, including U.S. and international laws
- 5+ years in a leadership role developing tax strategy, reporting, and technology teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field (preferred)
- CPA (preferred)
- Strong collaboration skills across finance, legal, and business units
- Experience managing complex tax audits, planning, and M&A considerations
- Ability to analyze complex data and communicate insights clearly
- Skill in storytelling and presentation
