Job summary

Unity, a leading game development platform, seeks a senior leader to head its IP and Litigation function, partnering with the Chief Legal Officer to shape the global IP strategy and manage all non-employment disputes.

You will oversee enforcement across patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights, coordinate with outside counsel, and supervise litigation, regulatory matters, and open source compliance, including M&A due diligence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading IP strategy and complex litigation
• J.D. from an accredited law school; state bar admission; USPTO admission preferred
• Experience managing complex IP and commercial disputes with outside counsel
• Experience with IP enforcement, defense, and risk in software/advertising tech

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive Unity’s global IP strategy and portfolios
• Lead enforcement, defense, and open source/licensing processes
• Manage IP due diligence for M&A and related agreements
• Lead IP disputes from pre-suit to resolution with outside counsel
• Oversee all company-wide litigation and dispute management
• Prepare and deliver IP training and manage budget and team
