Job summary

Takeda in Lexington, MA seeks a Legal Counsel, GI2 Therapy Area, Strategy and Portfolio Development at Senior Director level. You will provide expert legal advice, interpret laws, and lead risk management to support business objectives and patient-focused mission.

You will partner with US and global Commercial, R&D, Strategy, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality counsel, support product commercialization and lifecycle strategies, and drive cross-product initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active State Bar Membership and licensed to practice.
• 5+ years in-house counsel in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and supporting marketed products.
• 5+ years of law practice experience (e.g., law firm, solo practice, Government or Regulatory Agency).
• Significant expertise in pharma laws and regulations, including early, late-stage and marketed products, contract negotiation and interpretation, anti-bribery/anti-corruption/anti-kickback, pricing and privacy.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams for business and strategic planning.
• Able to translate complex legal analyses into pragmatic business strategy in the U.S. and globally.
• Experience counseling Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advocacy for high ethical standards, conduct and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and solution-oriented legal support for US and Global Commercial, R&D, Strategy and other functions.
• Support product commercialization and lifecycle management strategies.
• Help support cross-functional and cross-product strategy and ensure alignment with legal counsel.
• Conduct comprehensive legal analyses on complex and high-risk issues.
• Provide legal support across Takeda's brands, assets and functions as needed.
