Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking a Director of Food Safety & Quality to lead enterprise food safety and quality programs, including FSMA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP. The role collaborates with division quality leaders to ensure regulatory compliance and drive process improvements across Shamrock’s operations.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in food safety and QA, 3+ years of management, and deep knowledge of USDA, FDA, and third-party audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in food safety & quality assurance.
• 3+ years of direct management experience.
• Working knowledge of USDA, FDA, CFR, PMO and third-party auditing schemes (GFSI, SQF).
• Experience with Dairy, meat, seafood and edible oils manufacturing and processing including UHT.
• Willingness to travel 20%+.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develop Food Safety Plan by hazard evaluation/analysis, preventive controls, and verification against FSMA.
• Maintain GMP and current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
• Remain current and serve as division SME on FDA & USDA regulations (PMO, CFR, FSMA).
• Ensure all Shamrock divisions are audit ready and co-host regulatory inspections.
• Serve as SQF Practitioner for QA across divisions.
• Drive simplification and standardization of audit processes across Shamrock Enterprise.
• Coordinate regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
• Engage with suppliers to ensure vendor quality standards and vendor management programs.
• Collaborate with R&D on product formulations and label compliance.
• Establish and maintain enterprise QMS policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain FSQA training programs.
• Develop vendor management policies, including auditing and performance monitoring.
• Interface with QA leaders for cross-functional alignment on goals and compliance.
• Partner with IT/IS to roadmap a scalable QMS system.
• Provide expertise to resolve complex food safety and quality challenges.
• Participate in monthly Quality Management Review (QMR).
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
