Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Equity & Student Engagement to provide strategic direction and leadership for identity-based engagement programs and campus-wide initiatives.

The AVPESE will lead cross-functional teams, advance inclusive student experiences, and collaborate with multiple institutions to support recruitment, retention, and post-graduate success. This is a senior leadership role on the Auraria Campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• 8 years in student support, equity, or student engagement.
• 8 years of supervision and performance management experience.
• Experience advising, supporting, or partnering with student government, shared governance, or student leadership organizations.
• Experience using assessment and data to evaluate and improve programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level leadership for Equity and Student Engagement programs and supervision of department leaders.
• Establish organizational structures, staffing models, and accountability systems for student-centered delivery.
• Hire, train, develop, and evaluate department leaders, admin staff, and student employees.
• Lead strategic campus engagement initiatives to foster belonging, connection, and student success.
• Oversee tri-institutional collaboration across MSU Denver, CU Denver, and CCD and external partnerships.
