Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Wilmington is seeking a Director of Operations for Drug Product to lead the multidisciplinary team at a new hi-potent facility.

You will drive GMP manufacturing excellence, oversee technology transfers, and align with quality, safety, and sustainability goals. The role requires strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on optimization of production schedules for commercial and clinical products.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, or Technical fields with required years of experience.
• Experience in biotech/pharma manufacturing, especially drug product sterile manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements for high-potent products.

Responsibilities

• Lead Drug Product operations at the Wilmington hi-potent facility to meet commercial and pipeline goals.
• Oversee technology transfers, process optimization, and site-wide capital planning.
• Ensure quality, safety, and inspection readiness under QMS.
• Drive Lean initiatives and data-driven decision making to improve KPIs.
