Job summary

WD is seeking a Sr. Director for DEX Technology Architecture in San Jose, CA. This exempt role leads the architectural vision across HR tech, AI, cloud, and integration patterns, guiding buy-vs-build decisions and vendor engagements.

The successful candidate will own the DEX reference architecture, align with CTO/IT leadership, and drive multi-year technology strategy while ensuring security, data governance, and durable platform choices across the organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in enterprise IT/HR technology architecture.
• Experience translating workforce strategy into end-to-end platforms (HCM, payroll, etc.).
• Hands-on data, cloud architecture with AI fluency.
• TOGAF or equivalent and architecture governance in Agile/SAFe.

Responsibilities

• Own DEX technology architecture and align with CTO.
• Define buy-vs-build framework and act as architectural gate.
• Set AI and agentic systems standards and evaluate vendors/POCs.
• Lead Agile/SAFe architecture checks and stabilize portfolio.
• Lead multi-year tech strategy and governance.
