The Senior Director, Data Scientist will lead data science initiatives for the Global Payment Network, working closely with cross-functional partners to build and deploy machine learning solutions on large-scale datasets. The position is onsite in Riverwoods, IL and focuses on customer-focused decision-making across the full model lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-focused outcomes
• Use a broad technology stack, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and other tools, to extract insights from large volumes of numeric and textual data
• Develop machine learning models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Translate technical work into actionable business goals using strong interpersonal communication

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience in data analytics, or Master’s degree plus 8 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD plus 5 years of experience in data analytics
• At least 4 years of experience with open source programming languages for large-scale data analysis
• At least 4 years of experience with machine learning
• At least 4 years of experience with relational databases

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) plus 5 years of experience in data analytics
• At least 1 year of experience working with AWS
• At least 5 years of experience managing people
• At least 5 years of experience with Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis
• At least 5 years of experience with machine learning

Compensation, Locations, and Incentives

Salary: USD 286,200 - 326,700 per year for the Riverwoods, IL onsite location.

• McLean, VA: $314,800 - $359,300 (Sr Dir, Data Science)
• New York, NY: $343,400 - $392,000 (Sr Dir, Data Science)

Incentive compensation: Eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
