Job summary

Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Program Management to lead cross-functional drug development programs from strategy through execution, collaborating with clinical, regulatory, CMC, nonclinical, and commercial teams.

This role focuses on building integrated timelines, managing risks, and guiding decisions, with a strong emphasis on leadership, stakeholder communication, and delivering on strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical, business or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
• Typically, 12+ years of relevant biotech or pharma industry experience.
• Significant experience in cross-functional drug development and Program Management.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing complex development programs across multiple functions and development stages.
• Strong understanding of the drug development process and the relationships among clinical, regulatory, CMC, nonclinical, commercial and operational activities.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing integrated development timelines.
• Experience supporting major development decisions, scenario planning and senior leadership or governance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated program timelines with milestones and cross-functional dependencies.
• Monitor progress and assess impact of changes on the program.
• Identify and mitigate major program risks early.
• Prepare concise updates for senior leadership and governance.
• Lead cross-functional planning and ensure accountability across teams.
• Connect budgets and forecasts to development plans.
• Deliver clear program communication and drive follow-through.
