Job summary

Accion’s Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) seeks a Senior Director, Consumer Protection to lead research and industry engagement, translating findings into practical solutions for low-income and vulnerable consumers.

You will guide two areas—Research and Industry Engagement—driving strategy, convenings, and policy engagement with global stakeholders while collaborating across Accion to secure funding and deliver impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience in consumer protection, financial-sector policy, applied research, or related fields.
• An advanced degree in a relevant technical or functional field is preferred.
• Project management experience, coordinating concurrent workstreams, managing timelines and resources, and monitoring delivery against objectives.
• Ability to lead research from conception through dissemination and uptake, translating priorities into actionable plans and outputs.
• Sound judgement in identifying risks and coordinating mitigation with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the consumer protection research portfolio and develop the strategy for CFI’s consumer protection agenda.
• Oversee research and policy studies, and translate findings into actionable recommendations and pilots.
• Lead industry engagement, convenings, and content development for policy discussions.
• Build relationships with global policy bodies (G20, GPFI, UN) to advance CFI’s consumer protection agenda.
• Collaborate with Accion teams to identify funding opportunities and contribute technical content to proposals.
