Job summary

Accion’s Center for Financial Inclusion seeks a Senior Director of Consumer Protection to lead research and industry engagement on consumer protection in financial services. You will guide the research portfolio, translate findings into practical recommendations, and shape convenings and partnerships with global policy bodies.

The role reports to the Deputy Managing Director and requires 12+ years in related fields, with an advanced degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in consumer protection, policy, or applied research with leadership responsibilities.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Project management across multiple workstreams and timelines.
• Ability to translate research into actionable policy and industry outputs.
• Sound judgment in identifying risks and coordinating mitigation.
• Strong background in applied policy research and financial consumer protection.
• Experience leading IRB approvals and human subjects research considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead consumer protection research portfolio and industry engagement.
• Develop and implement CFI's consumer protection strategy and research roadmap.
• Translate findings into knowledge products and pilots for policy and practice.
• Oversee technical content for convenings and engagement opportunities.
• Build relationships with global policy bodies to advance the agenda.
