Job summary

Accion International's Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Director, Consumer Protection, to lead research and industry engagement aimed at protecting low-income and vulnerable consumers in a digitized financial ecosystem.

You will oversee a portfolio of studies, pilots, and convenings, translate findings into practical policy recommendations, and collaborate with global policy bodies like the G20 and UN to influence standards and practice.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience in consumer protection, financial-sector policy, or related fields.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Strong project management and multi-stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to translate research into actionable policy and practice.
• Experience with IRB approvals and human subjects research considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead consumer protection research portfolio and strategic industry engagement.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations and pilots for policy and practice.
• Oversee convenings and ensure alignment with research priorities and industry developments.
• Build relationships with global policy bodies (G20, GPFI, UN) to advance the agenda.
• Collaborate with Accion teams to fundraise, propose, and report on research initiatives.
