Job summary

Capital One seeks a Senior Director, Underwriting & Portfolio Management, to lead regions, a multifund function, and strategic people leadership within Community Finance UWPM. You will define governance frameworks, manage portfolio risks, drive growth, and cultivate deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the affordable housing ecosystem.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or military experience is required.
At least 12 years of underwriting, asset management, portfolio management experience in affordable housing or commercial real estate.
Master’s degree is preferred and aligns with senior leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction for underwriting and portfolio management.
Lead risk assessment and mitigation at portfolio, fund, and facility levels for debt and equity transactions.
Oversee credit and investment approvals ensuring alignment with risk appetite and regulations.
Develop governance frameworks and manage portfolio risks across UWPM and related teams.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team and serve as a brand ambassador for Capital One Community Finance.
