Job summary

Foodsmart is seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Intelligence to own ROI and outcomes methodology, leading a small research team and collaborating with payers and clinical teams. The role blends rigorous causal inference with strategic communication to demonstrate value and outcomes across member populations.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in health economics/actuarial roles, advanced degrees, and leadership experience, with a focus on scalable, AI-assisted research and evidence-based care

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, or related quantitative field; PhD strongly preferred.
• 12+ years as a health economist or actuary with a track record of ROI and value-based care methodology.
• 4+ years of team leadership experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise in causal inference applied to healthcare cost and outcomes.
• Experience with healthcare claims data (medical and Rx) and cost/utilization analysis.
• Experience presenting ROI and outcomes methodology to payers or actuaries.

Responsibilities

• Own ROI and clinical outcomes methodology, identifying populations that gain the most value.
• Defend methodology to payers and external actuarial firms under scrutiny.
• Scale the ROI system to new populations and payers without rebuilding.
• Lead clinical research agenda: publish white papers and external outputs.
• Translate research findings into care delivery practices with clinical teams.
• Be the internal clinical outcomes expert informing external storytelling.
• Lead a small team while staying hands-on with analysis and AI-enabled tooling.
