Job summary

Barings LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Managing Director to lead client portfolio management for private credit. This role focuses on business development, client servicing and product development across Barings' private credit strategies, with a primary emphasis on portfolio finance.

You will collaborate with investment teams, sales and other stakeholders to grow assets under management, develop strategy, and support senior leaders in client conversations.

Qualifications

• University degree.
• 12-15+ years experience in investment management roles, preferably private credit.
• Strong proficiency in fixed income with technical acumen.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to convey market dynamics.
• Willingness to travel and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary business development liaison for Barings' Portfolio Finance Strategy in North America.
• Communicate investment strategies internally and externally to grow assets under management.
• Partner with investment teams to deepen knowledge and act as a portfolio manager proxy.
• Attend investment team meetings and meet with current and prospective clients.
• Lead and develop junior Client Portfolio Management team members.
• Identify and coordinate new product development for private credit.
• Create Thought Leadership materials with investment teams and Marketing.
