Job description

The Senior Director, CEO Engagement – Small/Midsize Y leader is responsible for supporting, engaging, and communicating with local CEOs and their assigned affiliate networks. As a representative of the national office, this position provides strategic support to ensure alignment and partnership across the Service Delivery Continuum. Alignment with YUSA's vision, philosophy, and positioning is essential for success in this role. Building strong relationships with local CEOs is key and requires frequent in-person visits.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; related post-graduate work or an advanced degree is preferred.
2. Organizational Leader certification is preferred.
3. Minimum of 7-10 years of executive leadership experience in the YMCA or similar mission-based organization, with extensive experience in education and training. CEO or C-suite experience is highly preferred within the SMY Y Affiliate group.
4. Proven experience in cultivating partnerships within complex organizational structures.
5. Excellent project management, organizational, analytical, planning, and critical thinking skills.
6. Experience operating in a complex environment requiring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
7. Advanced coaching, communication, and facilitation skills, with comfort operating primarily through electronic communications in an asynchronous environment.
8. Knowledge of shared services, partnerships, and strategies to maximize impact as YMCAs grow and strengthen.
9. Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
10. Ability to build relationships and influence diverse stakeholders effectively.
11. Proactive approach to working in an ambiguous, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
12. Strong commitment to Y-USA's mission and strategic goals.
