Generate:Biomedicines is seeking a Senior Director, Scientific Project Lead to drive cardio-renal-metabolic programs from concept to preclinical proof-of-concept and shape translational strategy.

This role blends people management with broad cross-functional leadership across research, platform, translational, development, and portfolio functions, guiding key decisions and mentoring a diverse scientific team.

Qualifications

• The candidate will hold a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in life sciences or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant biotech/pharma/academic experience in therapeutic discovery and development.
• Experience identifying and advancing therapeutic targets in cardio-renal-metabolic diseases with translational considerations.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing senior stakeholders in matrixed environments.
• Strong scientific grounding across biology, experimental design, and data synthesis.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex programs from concept and discovery through preclinical proof-of-concept.
• Develop integrated program strategies aligning scientific objectives, timelines, and resources.
• Set program direction, advance opportunities, and propose targets with translational rationale.
• Facilitate cross-functional discussions, resolve differing views, and drive go/no-go decisions.
• Oversee wet lab, computational, platform, and translational workstreams with rigorous data packages.
• Develop resource plans and budgets, identify risks, and manage cross-functional dependencies.
• Build operating mechanisms for governance, risk tracking, and accountability.
• Mentor and develop direct reports; foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
