Flywire is seeking a Senior Director of B2B Engineering to lead and scale our Americas engineering organization, with a strong preference for Austin, TX. This senior role combines engineering strategy, payments expertise, AI-driven product development, and site leadership to make Austin a strategic hub.

You will partner with CTO, product and business leaders to shape a scalable B2B platform, build internal IP, and recruit top talent while guiding architecture, security, and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• Requires 15+ years in software, with director-level leadership in finance/fintech.
• Proven ability to define tech strategy and drive business outcomes with execs.
• Experience building/leading large, multi-site engineering teams.
• Strong depth in backend, distributed systems, APIs, security, reliability.
• Ability to attract, hire and retain top engineering talent.
• AI-first mindset with practical application in product/engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead Flywire's B2B engineering org, owning strategy, delivery, architecture and scalability.
• Define and deliver the technology roadmap for Flywire's B2B business in collaboration with leaders.
• Build and scale a high-performing internal engineering team, reducing contractor dependency.
• Serve as the Americas engineering site lead, establishing Austin as a strategic hub.
• Drive an AI-first engineering mindset to improve product capabilities and productivity.
• Establish standards, rhythms, accountability and delivery discipline for B2B engineering.
• Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Data, Product and Commercial teams to ensure scalability and security.
• Recruit, mentor and develop senior leaders, fostering ownership and high performance.
