Job summary

California State University, Chico invites applications for the Deputy Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Engagement. This senior leadership role oversees the department’s NCAA compliance program and student-athlete engagement initiatives, ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, CSU, and university policies.

The position leads key areas such as Student-Athlete Success and External Operations, serves as sport administrator for designated programs, and participates on the Athletics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, higher education, business, or a related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in intercollegiate athletics administration, including significant NCAA compliance, student-athlete services, sport oversight, or related area.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying NCAA rules, conference regulations, and institutional policies.
• Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience over professional staff and complex functional areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee NCAA compliance program and student-athlete engagement initiatives.
• Provide leadership for Student-Athlete Success and External Operations.
• Serve as sport administrator for designated programs and as Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
• Participate on Athletics senior leadership team.
