Job summary

Red 6, a Louisville, CO-based AR defense technology company, seeks a Senior Director of Software Architecture to lead the strategy and governance of the ATARS product portfolio. You will drive scalable, secure software architecture across embedded, real‑time, cloud, AI, and mission systems while mentoring senior engineers and aligning with executive leadership.

This role partners with Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer to ensure DoD‑ready software, modern development practices,

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience with 8+ years in large‑scale architecture initiatives.
• Experience defining enterprise software architectures for embedded systems and real‑time apps.
• Experience with DO-178 and safety-critical software in airborne platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for enterprise software architecture across ATARS and related products.
• Define and maintain long‑term software architecture roadmap for current and next‑gen capabilities.
• Lead architecture across embedded software, real‑time rendering, AI, cloud, and edge computing.
• Govern architecture decisions through boards, standards, and reusable frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with executives on customer engagements and proposals.
