John Wiley & Sons Inc. seeks a Senior Director, Business Analytics & Operations to lead the operating rhythm and analytics across the Research division, partnering with senior leaders to translate strategy into structured execution.

You'll build KPI frameworks, dashboards, and pipeline intelligence, drive data governance, and collaborate with Technology, AI & Data Analytics to scale a data-led growth model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in business operations, analytics, strategy, or a combination - ideally including a senior executive-support or business management role in a large, matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated track record supporting P&L-owning or senior executive leaders: owning operating rhythms, crossfunctional alignment, and executive communication.
• Strong analytical depth - comfortable building financial models, dashboards, and KPI frameworks; able to translate complex data into clear, decision-ready insights.
• Proven ability to build and instrument an analytics function from a limited foundation, including defining data standards and influencing data engineering teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to prepare board-level materials, ghostwrite for senior executives, and adapt narrative for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operating cadence for EVP & GM, Research and its Business Management & Strategic Programs team, including weekly meetings and board reporting cycles.
• Serve as senior operating partner and trusted advisor to the VP; represent the VP's perspective in cross-functional forums.
• Drive accountability across the team; maintain initiative registry and follow through on strategic workstreams.
• Lead high-priority special projects involving operating model design and transformation sequencing.
• Prepare and quality-control executive-facing materials and narrative architecture for diverse audiences.
• Stand up and own the Business Analytics function; define core KPI set across four strategic bets.
• Build integrated executive dashboards combining pipeline, revenue, signals and performance data.
• Apply advanced analytics to model revenue scenarios and quantify strategic impact.
• Partner with Technology & Operations and AI & Data Analytics to ensure data quality and governance.
