Job description

Job Summary

The Sr. Director of Analytics and Engineering leads project, client, and unit-specific initiatives across Conifer Analytics management and analysts. The role designs, directs, and executes key analytics projects—including pre‑integration client reporting, emerging client integration reporting, large revenue cycle operations initiative reporting, regulatory reporting, and process engineering projects—leveraging project management, analytical, and time management skills to meet established timelines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Lead or oversee special project reporting for various business units and pre‑integration client reporting for emerging clients, maintaining up‑to‑date expertise on all Conifer revenue cycle reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate analytics team members on projects, providing guidance, direction, and taking on more complex tasks as lead; ensure timely delivery of reporting to clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a high‑level understanding of accounting and general ledger practices as they relate to hospital revenue cycle metrics.
  • Collaborate with senior Conifer executives and operations leaders to meet client needs efficiently and cost‑effectively.
  • Oversee engineering team members, ensuring projects align with corporate strategies.
  • Develop analytics/engineering team strategies, monitor progress, align staff, and establish budgets.
Financial Responsibility

None, aside from budget adherence and accountability on projects led by the Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in accordance with guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

  • Set direction for a large analyst team consistent with Conifer senior leadership vision.
  • Independent, logical thinking and proven ability to perform detailed data analysis and make sound decisions.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving of complex technical issues within a timely fashion.
  • Advanced ability to gather and analyze complex data with deductive reasoning.
  • Excellent professional communication skills through clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and directors.
  • Ability to work well with team members and Conifer leadership, respecting all positions and completing tasks independently and professionally.
  • Ability to motivate team members and peers to meet goals.
  • Advanced organizational, customer service, interpersonal, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including resourcing.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with reporting systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio.
Education / Experience
  • 4‑year college degree in Business, Accounting, IS or equivalent with 10+ years of related experience.
  • 5–7 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience.
  • Extensive experience with revenue cycle engineering or analytics at a director level.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to work in a seated position, use a computer, and answer a telephone.
Work Environment
  • Office work environment.

  • Approximately 5–10% travel may be required.
