Job summary

Capital One seeks a Distinguished AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered financial services at scale. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver production-grade AI components, including foundation model training, LLM inference, and guardrails, leveraging AWS, HuggingFace, and PyTorch.

You will stay at the forefront of AI research, mentor teams, and drive the technical roadmap for foundational AI

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus at least 8 years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies, or Master's degree plus at least 6 years of experience.
At least 8 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and inference.
Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, latency, and cost.
