Job summary

DigitalOcean seeks a Senior Director of Agentic AI Engineering to define and own the strategy for its agentic AI infrastructure. You will build and scale services that enable developers to run, scale, and operate agents in production, guiding a high-impact, distributed engineering team.

The role emphasizes executive leadership, architectural excellence, and close collaboration with product and GTM teams to deliver competitive, margins-focused AI infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Understanding of agentic AI infrastructure including sandboxed execution and high-performance runtimes.
• Proven ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the multi-year engineering strategy and roadmap for agentic infrastructure services.
• Lead architecture and delivery of core agentic infrastructure capabilities (Open Harness Runtime, Action Toolbox, Coding Execution Runtime).
• Set long-term architecture for scalable, secure, and cost-efficient services.
• Launch revenue-driving products in collaboration with product and GTM teams.
• Improve infrastructure utilization and margin while controlling CapEx growth.
• Plan and execute transitions for new compute products and SKUs (e.g., ARM) for efficiency and fit.
• Lead and scale a geographically distributed engineering organization.
