Job summary

Penn-Mar is hiring a Senior Direct Support Professional to provide direct care in a residential setting in Westminster, MD. The role includes light housekeeping, personal care, medication assistance, and transportation to activities and appointments.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and ability to pass background checks. Training is provided, with opportunities for career advancement under our Career Ladders program.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License with 2 years of consecutive driving experience and less than 3 moving violations within the past 36 months.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background/physical/TB/drug screenings.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed.

Responsibilities

• Light housework: cooking, meal prep, cleaning.
• Maintenance of personal care/hygiene routines: feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, toileting.
• Providing transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, outside activities and excursions.
• Behavioral and social support (including handling potential physical and verbal outbursts/aggressiveness).
• Occasional sleepover shifts and/or supervision of a residential home where no Residential Supervisor is present.
• Assisting the Residential Supervisor in any other assigned duties.
