Job summary

AGCO Corporation is seeking a Sr Buyer in Hesston, KS to lead sourcing strategies for direct-material commodities and partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Sales. The role emphasizes cost optimization, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable supply and competitive total cost.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in a related field, 6+ years of purchasing experience including LCC suppliers, and strong negotiation and cost-analysis skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering.
• 6+ years of purchasing or sourcing experience; 4+ years with low-cost-country suppliers; 3+ years with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers to OEMs.
• Proven commodity sourcing and negotiation experience with direct-material suppliers.
• Strong cost analysis skills, including cost breakdowns, should-cost models, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Experience with ERP/purchasing systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel; Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, including market analysis, supplier consolidation, and LCC sourcing opportunities.
• Lead the RFQ process: prepare RFQ packages, solicit and evaluate quotations, perform cost breakdowns and should-cost analyses, and recommend supplier selection.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, long-term agreements, and commercial terms with external suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance (OTD, quality, cost, responsiveness); lead corrective actions and business reviews with key suppliers.
• Drive Product Cost Optimization (PCO) with Engineering and suppliers; track savings against targets.
