Senior Direct Endorsement Residential Underwriter page is loaded## Senior Direct Endorsement Residential Underwriterlocations: Columbus, OHtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: R-101483OH0713 NW Bancshares HQ**Job Description****Overview**The Sr Direct Endorsement Residential Underwriter is responsible to perform residential loan underwriting activities related to loan request with the goal of achieving the optimal outcome for Northwest and the customer.**Essential Functions*** Communicate with customers, realtors, title companies, attorneys, and settlement agents to schedule closings, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and obtain any documentation required to complete the loan file* Interact with Mortgage Loan Originators, Loan Production Assistants and other team members on a daily basis to resolve questions/issues, and ensure timely underwriting of loan files* Manage a pipeline of working loan files to ensure loans are underwritten in a timely manner* Maintain current knowledge of mortgage loan programs, procedures, and guidelines* Use Northwest’s loan origination systems and agency automated underwriting systems (Freddie Mac – Loan Product Advisor, USDA Guaranteed Underwriting System) to underwrite residential mortgage loans* Review and analyze documentation submitted and used in underwriting decisions for accuracy and completeness* Ensure data relating to the underwriting of loans in accurate and complete in the loan origination system* Review and analyze appraisal reports and title commitments to verify sufficient collateral and proper lien position to secure loans* Maintain loan approval authority for all residential mortgage loan products offered by Northwest (conventional, portfolio, FHA, VA, USDA) Checking accuracy of all calculations* Recommend improvements to procedures* Manage personal workload/workflow* Meet turnaround/production goals* Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations* Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency* Work as part of a team* Work with on-site equipment* Ensure adherence to appropriate investor guidelines and industry standards**Qualifications*** Bachelor's Degree preferred* 3 - 5 years experience as DE Underwriter preferred* 5 - 6 years experience underwriting conventional loans, 3 years’ experience underwriting VA and USDA Rural Housing Loans preferred* Working knowledge of residential mortgage loan products* Working knowledge of Ellie Mae – Encompass loan origination software, Freddie Mac – Loan Product Advisor, USDA – Guaranteed Underwriting System (GUS), FHA Connection preferred* Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to define and solve problems, establish facts and make well-reasoned decisions* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work closely with other team members is needed* Proficient organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness a plus* The ability to work independently in a fast-paced high production environment under time constraints and to work collaboratively in a team environment managing multiple deadlines and priorities preferred#LI-MM1Northwest is an equal opportunity employer.
