Job summary

Amazon Inc. in the United States (WA) is seeking a Senior Simulation Scientist for Last Mile Simulations and Analytics Engineering.

You will build digital twins, discrete event simulations, and physics-based models to optimize Last Mile operations. You will lead cross-functional teams across design, technology, and robotics, delivering scalable experimentation systems and insights to influence operational decisions at Amazon.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 5+ years of quantitative field research experience
• Experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive etc.
• Experience communicating qualitative research methods and findings to non-qualitative researchers

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and delivery of simulation data science solutions for complex operational processes using DES software
• Guide strategic modeling and simulation research projects to drive process design decisions
• Establish best practices and simplify problems to develop DES faster with higher standards
• Tackle intrinsically hard process flow simulation problems with significant business impact
• Deliver artifacts setting the standard for process flow control algorithms, validation, and documentation
