Freddie Mac Multifamily is building a better housing finance system, and the Multifamily UX team supports that mission through human-centered design in an agile product environment. In this role, you will partner with product and technology teams to evolve the design practice and deliver UX/UI work that stays aligned to the Freddie Mac Design System.
The Senior Digital Product Designer role focuses on end-to-end ownership, from shaping alignment with partners to supporting product teams through implementation. You will work across web and mobile experiences, lead evidence-based iterations, and help drive a user-centered culture across design and delivery.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with multi-functional partners, including product owners, developers, and stakeholders, to understand requirements and user needs.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications, following modern industry standards.
- Participate in user research activities, such as usability testing, interviews, and surveys, to gather insights and refine solutions.
- Ensure designs align with the Freddie Mac Design System and established industry methodologies.
- Stay current on UX design trends, tools, and techniques to inform design decisions.
- Present design concepts and capture feedback to support iterative improvement.
- Own solutions end to end, including managing partners, reaching alignment, and supporting product teams.
- Coordinate with design leaders to maintain consistent patterns and user experience needs across a suite of tools used by diverse user groups.
- Partner with product, business, and development leaders to streamline design delivery and support platform-wide design initiatives.
- Work with design leads to refine UX process and methodology, continuously improving the operating model and collaboration approach.
- Model and support culture change through user-centered design, including solution de-risking, value proposition validation, and evidence-based decision-making.
What you bring
- 5 to 7 years of design or product strategy, visual or interaction design, and experience design.
- A Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, or equivalent work experience.
- Understanding of applying and implementing the Design Thinking methodology.
- Experience with usability testing and incorporating customer feedback into future design increments; ethnographic research experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent tools (Figma experience preferred).
- Experience working within Agile product teams.
- A portfolio showcasing relevant academic or personal projects.
- Ability to translate user needs into intuitive and functional designs.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter mindset and ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
