Job summary

Dorleco in Palo Alto, CA seeks a Senior Digital Key Engineer to lead secure integration of CCC Digital Key specs within vehicle architectures. You will oversee cross-layer debugging across NFC, BLE, and UWB and drive root-cause analyses with automotive partners and cybersecurity experts.

You will validate interoperability on iOS/Android platforms, optimize timing, and ensure low-latency wake-up and entry workflows while maintaining strict security and privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related technical discipline.
• Deep knowledge of CCC Digital Key Architecture incl. NFC, BLE, and UWB wireless tech.
• Proficiency with network/hardware analysis tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer, Wireshark, BLE sniffers, and protocol analyzers.
• Experience troubleshooting RF timing constraints, cryptographic handshake latencies, and performance bottlenecks.
• Solid understanding of vehicle networking protocols including CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Familiarity with Secure Elements, PKI, and asymmetric cryptography.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End implementation: integrate CCC Digital Key specs within vehicle architecture with security/privacy in mind.
• Defect triage & root cause analysis: identify, isolate, and track defects across hardware, embedded software, and mobile apps.
• Protocol & timing analysis: analyze BLE discovery to UWB distance bounding with tools like logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Interoperability validation: test performance across diverse mobile hardware, OS (iOS/Android), and environments.
• Performance tuning: optimize physical-layer workflows to meet latency for wake-up, lighting, and hands-free entry.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with Tier-1 suppliers, internal teams, and cybersecurity experts to fix bottlenecks.
