Job summary

Alcon, a global eye care leader, seeks a Principal Software Engineer for the Digital Health Engineering Team in Fort Worth, TX. You will design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, while contributing to React.js front-end work and cloud-native backend services.

You will mentor engineers, drive engineering excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of directly related experience, or higher.
• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices-based architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure enterprise applications with a focus on backend services.
• Develop and enhance Microservices, APIs, and components using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native tech.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Solution Architects to align with roadmaps and standards.
• Ensure security, reliability, and maintainability through testing and code reviews.
• Contribute to front-end development using React.js and ensure seamless backend integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
