Job summary

Alcon, the global leader in eye care, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to join the Digital Health Engineering Team in Fort Worth, TX. You will design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure enterprise applications with a focus on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud-native backend services.

You will also contribute to modern web development using React.js, collaborating with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and DevOps engineers to drive innovation in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Strong backend expertise with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of API security and secure software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure enterprise applications with a backend focus.
• Develop and enhance microservices, APIs, and backend components using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver features and platform enhancements.
• Contribute to front-end integration using React.js for seamless user experiences.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
