Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a Senior Forensic Developer to design and build specialized software used in federal cybercrime and digital-evidence investigations. You will work at the intersection of software engineering and digital forensics, delivering tools that help investigators uncover artifacts, reconstruct events, and validate evidence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years building forensic or investigative software.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience with OS internals, reverse engineering, and scripting.
• Familiarity with forensic platforms (EnCase, AXIOM, X-Ways, Cellebrite).
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document work.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced forensic applications for artifact extraction and memory analysis.
• Engineer automation frameworks to improve investigative efficiency.
• Perform reverse engineering and binary analysis.
• Ensure tools meet evidentiary standards and validation.
• Integrate tooling into enterprise investigation platforms.
• Produce technical documentation and validation reports.
• Support investigators with custom capability development.
