Job summary

Nike Inc is seeking a Senior Designer to lead and craft Podium Design System initiatives, ensuring polished, scalable design across product domains. You’ll collaborate with designers, engineers and product partners to drive strategic execution and artifact quality in a fast-paced environment.

You will own multiple features, mentor peers, and push Nike’s design culture forward with innovative approaches, including AI tooling and dynamic design systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of end-to-end digital product design with visual and UX experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in design or related field; will consider alternatives.
• Strong understanding of product thinking, interaction design and execution.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, end-to-end design solutions meeting Nike standards.

Who you’ll work with

On the Nike Podium Design Systems team, you will be working side by side with 2 Lead Designers and a Lead Engineer in a fluid collaborative manner. We hustle, we sweat the details and we constantly collaborate in and outside our team. Podium is a horizontal team that works across Nike Digital Product Design, has a strong focus on serving as a catalyst and is focused on helping drive Nike digital to move at the speed of sport. You will be working horizontally with product team partners who are using and implementing Podium. With these partners you will collaborate, support and user test. The role will report directly to the Senior Design Manager of the Podium Team.

You're a critical team member helping drive decision making, inform strategic thinking and executing detailed design for the Podium Design System. You confidently apply your knowledge and craft, working independently on several projects at a time. You seek out opportunities to round out your skills and always present the thinking behind your work. You bring a wide-range of concepts to the table and are constantly pushing your team’s view of what’s possible.

• 6+ years of relevant experience with end-to-end digital product design with proven experience in visual and UX
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in design or related field (UX/UI design, human-computerinteraction, etc.). Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
• Strong understanding of product thinking, interaction design and execution
• Ability to deliver high-quality, end-to-end design solutions that uphold Nike's quality standards
• Hands-on creative and systems thinker with strong UX/UI/IA design expertise
• Demonstrated user-centric design approach and insights-based design process
• Strong collaborator with product managers, engineers, writers, researchers and marketers
• Solid design process and strong attention to detail
• Experience working with consumer research and data
• Design systems experience: Tokens, components, Figma code parity
• AI fluency: Cursor/agents, structured content for machine readability (Podium AGENTS.md / MCP direction)
• Horizontal partnership: Works across Podium and with design-system consumers ideal experience
• Enterprise / high-density internal tooling UIs
• Reconciling sub-system libraries with a core design system
• Documentation site authoring, not Figma-only delivery
• Motion design
• Lightweight engineering familiarity: React/TypeScript components, CSS custom properties, npm publish patternsge of concepts to the table and are constantly pushing your team’s view of what’s possible.

As Senior Designer, you will work on large scope initiatives that require a blend of strategic thinking and superb systems craftsmanship. You'll deliver digital experiences that make Nike's products the most inspiring and effortless for businesses to choose, plan, order and sell.

• Podium Design System components, Tokens, Guidance, AI tooling and integrations into product domains
• Strategic thinking and driving design execution across large scope project tracks
• Designing incredibly polished work that represents the Nike brand and product experience through visual comps, wireframes, flows and prototypes
• Owning multiple product features for medium to large projects
• Taking proactive ownership at edges of projects where requirements and design objectives can be more ambiguous
• Rapidly iterating and refining design concepts from initial briefing through final delivery
• Working closely and collaboratively with a cross-functional team of producers, product managers, design operations, engineers, researchers and fellow designers
• Developing design solutions using participatory and iterative techniques including user interviews, observation, usability testing, validation, and design thinking brainstorms and workshops
• Inspiring new ways of thinking and exploring the unknown using fresh and unique approaches to design problems
• Mentoring and providing helpful feedback to fellow designers and interns to uplevel their craft and skills
• Evangelizing the Nike brand and driving initiatives that strengthen Nike's design culture internally
• Ability to effectively communicate design intentions and establish the gravity around ideas
• Ability to produce a holistic look and feel between all pieces of a large project
• Experience launching software at scale in a fast-paced product organization
• Passion for the Nike brand, sports and for creating high-quality work
