Job summary

Nike Inc. seeks a passionate footwear designer with deep knowledge of Performance and Lifestyle footwear. You’ll lead concept visualization, tech pack development, and revisions across a range of projects from high-volume to one-off concepts.

The role requires fluency in 3D tools (Blender, Gravity Sketch, Fusion 360 or Rhino) and AI tools (Vizcom, Runway). You will collaborate with Nike teams and mentor other designers in innovative processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design or related field; will accept any suitable education/experience
• 8 yrs experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
• Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
• Strong sketching, illustration, visualization and rendering skills
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
• Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
• Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Fluent in 3D tools like Blender, Gravity Sketch, Fusion 360 or Rhino
• Fluent in AI tools like Vizcom, Blender, Runway or Sora
• Fluent in tools like Illustrator, Photoshop and Keynote
• 3D printing and prototyping skills are a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from sketch ideation to tech pack and revisions
• Work with internal and external partners to test, evaluate and test new digital design tools
• Mentor other designers on Nike's new and innovative design process
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Nike for concept development and storytelling

You'll be working with a fast-moving multidisciplinary team of experienced Footwear designers, Computational designers, and Innovation designers. focused on industry-leading innovative footwear. This team reports directly to the VP of Footwear Design Excellence.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You'll work on a wide range of footwear projects covering all categories of performance, lifestyle and innovation, this will also span "high-volume" projects to "one-off" inspirational concepts. You will lead projects from sketch ideation, concept visualization, presentation through to tech pack and revisions. You will also be working directly with our internal and external partners to test, evaluate and recommend new digital design tools. You will also need to mentor other designers across Nike on our new and innovative process.
