Job summary

Desoto Health seeks a Dietary Supervisor to complete initial nutritional assessments and develop care plans for residents. You will chart progress, update MDS data, and work with the Interdisciplinary Care Plan team to ensure optimal nutritional status.

The role requires safe dietary practice, strong supervision skills, and the ability to train staff while maintaining quality standards and resident safety.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in SAFE AND SERVE; Education in Dietetic programs.
• Basic computer skills.
• Two (2) years’ experience with quantity food production and clinical skills; ability to supervise dietary staff.
• Ability to manage, train, develop, direct and maintain interpersonal relationships with staff and residents.
• Develop and maintain MDS (RAPs and triggers), nutritional histories and assessments on all residents.
• Documents progress notes on residents’ nutritional status and coordinates with Interdisciplinary Care Plan team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Head Cooks, Cooks and Dietary Aide staff daily.
• Confer with Dietary Manager on policies and procedures for the dietary department.
• Coordinate with the Consultant Registered Dietitian on resident nutrition needs.
• Ensure proper storage of foods and supplies; maintain sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Evaluate and direct food production, standardize recipes, portion control and QA activities.
• Participate in department meetings and train Dietary staff.
• Educate residents and families on nutrition as indicated.
