Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Tampa, FL to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles using state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, complex repairs, and customer interactions while upholding safety and DOT standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus vocational/technical certifications and hands-on diesel experience. CDL-A is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required for daily work.
• Experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Complete complex repairs with minimal supervision, including diesel systems and electricals.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue.
• Ensure compliance with safety, DOT, and company guidelines.
• Mentor junior technicians and support fleet maintenance tasks.
